Energized and Visionary: My 2025 Journey into Decentralized Innovation

The word that describes me best for 2025 is Energized.

The rise of decentralized protocols like Nostr, combined with the transformative potential of Bitcoin and blockchain technologies, has inspired me to lean fully into my vision for decentralized, user-driven digital tools. This reflects my commitment to building a future where technology empowers individuals while staying grounded in principles of empathy, collaboration, and innovation.

Why Decentralization? Why Now?

We're finally ready for that digital-first, #value4value, peer-to-peer world. Everywhere around the globe, decentralized innovation is reshaping how we approach technology, enabling us to interact directly with one another.

While Bitcoin's momentum continues to offer a trustless, global financial system, protocols like Nostr enable censorship-resistant communication. Together, these technologies, which have always inspired me, are now forming the backbone of my work in 2025. They hold the core DNA necessary for creating tools that prioritize user autonomy and inclusivity.

This journey began with MaiQR.app (MaiQRapp.com), a Nostr-based "link-in-bio" platform I've been building. Through its development, I was inspired to apply and was accepted into the Btrust Builders’ 2025 ₿OSS Cohort program (Read more here). This program has reignited my passion for leveraging decentralized technologies to solve real-world problems.

Technical Expertise is Back in the Spotlight for 2025

Here we are today. Are you feeling that shift in the economy of ideas? Are you starting to think about all the layers and barriers that stifle 90% of the good in the world just to restrict the remaining 10% of the bad?

Now is such an exciting time to be curious, and to take the time to learn. Tools like Cursor and Windsurf, which leverage AI to assist with development, have been instrumental in bringing my ideas to life.

While my technical expertise lies mostly in JavaScript for frontend and middleware web development, AI and platforms like YouTube have made it possible to learn and explore in unprecedented ways.

To that point, I’m contributing to the open-source space by building my ideas and developing Nostr-focused NPM packages (Vveerrgg on NPMjs). These projects are a testament to my belief in the power of decentralization to create scalable, secure, and user-friendly solutions. And you can too—all you have to do is catch the vibes.

Bridging Technology, Design, and Business

The technologies of 2025 offer a greenfield for bold ideas. Whatever your skills or perspective, bring them to the table. Collaborating with decentralized protocols and tools like AI LLMs expands your curiosity and ability to innovate, turning ideas into actionable solutions.

Even with my 20 years of experience as a UX researcher, design thinker, and project leader, asking "Why? & Why-not?" has guided my approach to tackling "those big ideas." I’ve always been passionate about creating impactful, human-centered solutions; today, that passion fuels my exploration of decentralized ecosystems, where technology meets human values.
